From the doctor

Jacksonville has been a great place to live and raise a family. We have spent most of our spare time on the beach, the river and on golf courses. My pursuits have been biking, golfing, boating and wind surfing.

I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. It begins with intense listening. This is my best tool in arriving at an accurate understanding of my patients. The patient is part of the team and therefore needs to have as full an understanding of his or her illness as possible. It takes a lot of work to treat a brain disorder and each member of the team must understand their part.

I believe in community involvement and have served as chair of Mental Health America and Youth Crisis Center (YCC). I currently serve on the board of YCC. I have long been involved in NAMI and have learned about the suffering and dedication of the relatives of those afflicted with the most malignant of the mental disorders. I am also involved in the Jewish community and currently serve on the board of the Jewish Federation.
