Overview

The 12-month Post Graduate Year Two (PGY2) Pediatric Residency Program at Wolfson Children's Hospital provides residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care and other advanced practice settings. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY-2 pharmacy residency program are prepared for advanced patient care, academic or other specialized positions, along with board certification.

  • The flexibility of the PGY-2 Pediatric Residency Program will allow the resident to cater their residency experience based upon his or her goals, interests and experience.
  • The resident is required to complete core rotations essential to becoming a well-rounded pediatric pharmacy practitioner.
  • A variety of elective rotations are available, allowing the resident the opportunity to pursue their individual goals.
  • The PGY-2 resident is required to develop and complete a major research project, which will be presented at the annual pediatric
  • pharmacy association (PPA) or equivalent.
  • The resident will have the opportunity to continue their develop oral and written communication skills and participate in leadership and practice management committees.
  • Upon successful complete of the residency program, residents will receive a certificate of completion.
