Walgreens customers throughout North Florida and Southeast Georgia have the opportunity to donate to Wolfson Children’s Hospital and in turn, receive a free Wolfie plush toy. This is the ninth year that Wolfie A. Wolfson, the official mascot of Wolfson Children’s, has joined forces with Walgreens for the annual donation drive.
The donation drive runs from now through July 1, 2020, at Walgreens locations in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Augustine, Orange Park, Middleburg, Green Cove Springs, Callahan, Macclenny, Fernandina Beach and Palm Coast, Folkston, Ga., and Kingsland, Ga.
All customers who make a donation of $1, $5 or $10 will receive a thank you card featuring photos and stories of Wolfson Children’s patients. Those who donate $10 will also receive a free Wolfie plush toy.
The annual Walgreens campaign has raised more than $350,000 for Wolfson Children’s Hospital since it began in 2012. Money raised will support technology at Wolfson Children’s, helping ensure every child receives the world-class care he or she deserves.
Walgreens and Wolfson Children’s Hospital are also holding a social media contest. Post a photo of your best summer adventure with your Wolfie plush toy on Facebook or Instagram and tag @WolfsonChildren to enter. One winner will receive a $250 Walgreens gift card.
Walgreens has also partnered with Baptist Health for retail health clinics inside three Jacksonville-area Walgreens stores. The Baptist Health Clinics at Walgreens in Mandarin, Fleming Island and Ponte Vedra Beach offer same-day care for minor health issues and for immunizations. Certified nurse practitioners are available with extended hours, giving the community convenient access to outstanding care. For more information, visit baptistclinic.com.
Services provided at Wolfson Children’s Hospital are provided primarily by pediatric physician specialists with Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, Jacksonville, University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (for cardiac surgery services) and Emergency Resources Group.
