Terry Heart Institute at Wolfson Children’s Hospital welcomes two new pediatric cardiologists

Prerna Bansal, MD and Khushboo Parikh, MD bring expertise in congenital heart disease, fetal echocardiography and general cardiology.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital and the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Heart Institute continue to expand children’s heart services across Northeast Florida and the region with the addition of two new pediatric cardiologists, Prerna Bansal, MD, and Khushboo Parikh, MD.

Dr. Bansal is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Along with pediatric cardiology, her areas of expertise include, congenital heart disease, fetal echocardiology and pediatric transthoracic echocardiography.

Prior to joining Terry Heart Institute and the Wolfson Children’s Hospital medical staff Dr. Bansal earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Government Medical College in Akola, India. She completed her residency at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, New Jersey, and her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City, New York.

Dr. Parikh is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both pediatric cardiology and general pediatrics. Her areas of expertise include general cardiology, hyperlipidemia and hypertension management in children, fetal echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography.

She brings more than a decade of experience and earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Topiwala National Medical College and Bai Yamunabai Laxman Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai, India. Dr. Parikh completed her pediatric residency at the University of Arizona, Tucson and her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bansal and Dr. Parikh began seeing patients in April.
