Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pediatric Emergency Department at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time opportunity working Nights with a commitment of 36 hrs. per week. Scheduled shifts are 7:00pm-7:00am.

The Wolfson Children’s Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department is dedicated exclusively to the care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a leading pediatric hospital in Northeast Florida, Wolfson Children’s Hospital provides specialized pediatric emergency care supported by highly trained pediatric physicians, nurses, and specialists.

As a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Emergency Department, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides patient care to the critically ill pediatric population utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
  • Administers medications per hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, representatives from other departments and any other customers.
  • Certification Requirements:  Must maintain certifications as follows: Basic Life Support upon hire. Within one year of hire of hire into the department, RN must complete and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Certification (TNCC), CPI, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course(PEARS) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), and (STABLE). For nurses with no prior pediatric experience, must take Pediatric Emergency and Advanced Resuscitation and Stabilization (PEARS) within orientation period.

Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services. Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care. Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care. Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
